WW3
04:29
|
|||
I had a dream it was world war three
And everything was on fire
Helicopters were going around
Looking for something important
Looking for something I had
I ran down the street then
Yeah I ran as fast as fast
I stopped to catch my breath at last
When someone there approached me
Someone there approached
They told me that they heard a rumor
That someone said I was a boomer
I said I don’t know what your talking about
And threw my belongings away
They said what a boomer thing to say
I ran ‘till I came to a water
And I hitched a ride on the ferry
Looking around I saw people in places
All of them hiding there faces
All of them hid there face
I start to ask one a question
Im half finished when they reply
Sorry I’m not that kind of guy
To answer to some type of stranger
To answer to some type of stranger
So I leave the ferry
And I meet a strange looking man
He has orange hair and he has an orange face
And he says he has some type of plan, babe
He says he has some type of plan
I ask him what his plan is
I ask him to please end the war
He says, “If I did that I’d be out of a job.”
And he gives me a one dollar bill, Crisp
Says one day his face will be on, this
Instead of whoever this is

Talking Voting
02:52
|
|||
I went down to the voting poll
And I got into a voting hole
A big old line of older folks
When I finally got my paper my pencil broke
There was no sharpener around
They said “times up!”
I had to go back to the end of the line
When I got back to the front again
They hand me some ink and a fountain pen
They send me to a booth that’s painted green
But my pen don’t work on the computer screen
They ask me what day it is
I said its Thursday
They said go to the back of monday’s line
Come Monday
I went down to the voting poll
And I got into a voting hole
A big old line of older folks
I give a yell and I take a poke
It was a police officer
He said no yelling
I said I’ve been here for four days
He said, oh really? There’s extra booths in the next room
I ask him why and he just shrugs
I give up and go into the voting booth
I look down at the voting paper
It looks back and says meet your maker
A hundred little eyes staring back at me
And off all the questions I understand three
What’s your name
Who do you want for president
And should we legalize marijuana
Yes yes and yes
I finished filling in all those bubbles
The man at the desk says hey we’ve got trouble
You went over the line with your pencil here
And your signature well it just says yes
you’re gonna have to redo this
But first
You’re gonna have to get to the back of the line

The Coronavirus Cruise
02:35
|

I was sailing on a cruise ship one day
I was sailing on a cruise ship one day
I was sailing on a cruise ship one day
Singing, “hey hey hey hey”
The captain started coughing up a storm
The captain started coughing up a storm
The captain started coughing up a storm storm
Singing hey hey hey hey
Coronavirus blowing in my way
Coronavirus blowing in my way
Coronavirus blowing in today today
Singing hey hey hey hey
Quarantined on this ship with the captain
Quarantined on this ship with the captain
Quarantined on this ship with the captain
Quarantined on this ship for another day
Over 2000 dead on the mainland
Over 2000 dead on the mainland
Over 2000 dead on the mainland
Singing hey hey hey hey
Hey hey hey hey
Ho ho ho ho ho
Ho ho ho ho ho
Hey hey hey hey
Never coming back to this cruise ship again
Never coming back to this cruise ship again
Never coming back to this cruise ship again no way
Singing hey hey hey hey

The Coronavirus Blues
02:39
|
|||
well the coronavirus
is getting worse and worse
it started in China and followed a course
along south korea and italy too
itll be a pandemic before it is through
now all the mask makers are out of supplies
the hospital director in Wuhan dies
mask makers allowed to ship just ten percent
out of the country before theyre all lent
82,000 cases popped up in the dark
as the Chinese face terrible racist remarks
the world is crazy and out of control
all the trade routes suspended
and gatherings on hold
onto the olympics coming up in japan
there’s talk of postponement or move to safe land
the money man says, “the logistics dont lie!”
“the games must go on, even if they all die!”
take care of your self and be careful out there
for you cant know how and you cant know where
coronavirus could strike as it spreads through a sneeze
you’d be gone with the dust and you’d be off with the breeze

Gentrification Station
03:10
|
|||
born in the midwest
where i was born and raised
then gentrification, they promised me that i could stay
i’m boarding that train and I wont be back again, to that gentrification station
they gave me more money
thought that i would get ahead
but they raised up the prices
on things like gasoline and bread
i’m boarding that train and I wont be back again, to that gentrification station
born in the midwest
thats where i hang my hat
where the homeless are hungry
and the wealthy are fat
i’m boarding that train and I wont be back again, to that gentrification station
i got me an apartment
and i was needing every cent
i got me an apartment
but then they raised my rent
i’m boarding that train and I wont be back again, to that gentrification station
i feel just like a cowboy
as i look out to the west
waiting for the sunrise
the cold bites a little less
i’m boarding that train and I wont be back again, to that gentrification station
born in the midwest
where i was born and raised
then gentrification, they promised me that i could stay
i’m boarding that train and I wont be back again, to that gentrification station

Kippers and the alley cat
Kippers and the alley cat
Kippers and the alley cat in the window sill
I’m trapped up in my house
And I cannot let you in
For the fact of the matter of my roommates allergen
Little alley cat
Little alley cat
Sittin in my window sill
Im gonna get you fat
Im gonna get you fat
I open up some kippers for our meal
Kippers and the alley cat
Kippers and the alley cat
Kippers and the alley cat in the window sill
I’m trapped up in my house
And I cannot let you in
For the fact of the matter of my roommates allergen
So you take what you can take
And I give what I can give
And I’ll see you in the morning If the COVID lets me live
Little alley cat
Little alley cat
Sittin in my window sill
Kippers and the alley cat
Kippers and the alley cat
Kippers and the alley cat in the window sill
I’m trapped up in my house
And I cannot let you in
For the fact of the matter of my roommates allergen

I went down to the grocery store
To get me a snack and a little more
Noticed everybody was running around
The whole store seemed to be upside down
There was no toilet paper
No hand sanitizer
I ask a guy where I can find an answer
He says aisle five if there’s any left
I started walking down that aisle three
I feel a sense of panic and misery
I grab a couple things I don’t even need
I notice there’s a sale so I buy seventeen
Tomato sauce jars
canned fruit
Bags of flour
Plenty of imported Italian pasta left
I went down to the aisle two
Cause I knew just a what to do
I grabbed me a tent and some kerosene
Thought I’d go find me a quiet stream
Lay low for a while
Quarantine
Call my job
Tell em I’ll be back in two weeks
I got out of the grocery store
And I went to open the car door
I had gone in for a little meal
But all they had left was a raw deal
The rich man has all the toilet paper
The poor man has none
They both have coronavirus

The Stimulus Check Song
02:33
|
|||
Whatcha gonna do with your stimulus check, stimulus check, stimulus check, whatcha gonna do with your stimulus check I’ll tell ya what I’ll do with mine
Imma gonna buy me an amplifier
More marijuana so I can get a little higher, fix my truck and pay off my debt, with my stimulus check
Imma gonna get me a new tv, a bunch of food and a money tree, get new shoes and a kangaroo, with my stimulus check
Whatcha gonna do with your stimulus check, stimulus check, stimulus check, whatcha gonna do with your stimulus check I’ll tell ya what I’ll do with mine
Imma gonna get me a big old boat, sail the seas, and that’s all she wrote
Imma gonna get me a big old boat with my stimulus check
And when I get to the coral reef, imma gonna have to cut my teeth
Become a man of the seven seas, because of my stimulus check
Whatcha gonna do with your stimulus check, stimulus check, stimulus check, whatcha gonna do with your stimulus check I’ll tell ya what I’ll do with mine
Freaked out and bought a bunch of stuff I don’t need like kidney beans and a book on James dean, I’ve got nothing left to pay the bills, from my stimulus check
If they ask it got lost in the mail, thrown out the window and buried in the hail, when it dried out it was ripped and pale
So I need a second stimulus check
I hope they send another stimulus check

Parsimony
04:23
|
|||
tearing at my open hands while
lifting heavy dreams to land
i ran my palms between the sand
as fortune teller flyers rattled quietly in the distance
the pelican is off again a
feather drifting in the wind can
offer little sentiment to men
who dream only to see the flyer in the distance
in the midnight moon that never fails
to sink it’s tooth into the
eye of the beholder
biting hard releasing soon to leave a sunrise in the distance
it’s troublesome
aluminum
it’s paper thin
recycling
disposable
the kingdom of the whirlwind is
running out of air again but
royalty hath just to breathe it’s
hierarchy to understand the fiction
the parsimony queen is
saving up her royalty
you better tell her that she’s couth
if you want her revenue and not her diction
luckily the king of luxury is
rich speaks with impertinence
he’s separated from the crowd
by a fog of great suspicion , but he’s in the distance
the pelican is picking up some speed
he beats his wings on the
unseen around Namibia he’s looking
for a way to save his blood line
often lost in thought i am distraught
to know that i am simply bought
by the outsiders for my legs as long
as spiders break in due time
for me the reverie i get from sleep
cannot be beat by what i see
when im awake through out the day
i keep my eyes peeled on the dream
in the distance
it’s troublesome
aluminum
it’s paper thin
recycling
disposable

The Mosque Murderer
02:51
|
|||
I’ll tell you the story Of the masque murderer
And all of the ways the pot did stir
Do not go gentle Into that good night
For Brenton Tarrant might take your life
Im not afraid of him Or to know his name
And you shouldn’t be neither For what is knowing the name
Of a hideous creature with a terrible plan
To shoot up some churches and hurt fellow man
He killed 50 some people In such a venerable way
Just for being a muslim On another Sunday
Thirty six minutes after he shot up the mosques
They managed to catch him and change their gone laws
Six thousand eight hundred thirty five miles
From where Tarrant sits behind bars in a pile
In Sri Lanka on the following Sunday
Couple hundred more people would meet the same fate
Nothing will ever be the same for the healing
As Tarrant goes on trial for the murder of New Zealand
With the live stream video still floating around
That the deranged man filmed when he shot up the town
Do not go gentle into that good night
For you might see the smoke through the Paris moonlight
As the last speech bellows out of Theresa may
And there’s talk of impeachment in the usa
|
||||
11. |
||||
If you gather round me people
A story I will tell
Of Khashoggi and the Crown Prince
Of Saudi Arabia
It was at the consulate building
One sunny afternoon
Premeditated murder
To remove a dissident
They chopped him up in pieces
Some 15 or so men
An elite Saudi hit team
All good friends with the prince
The CIA assessment
Showed the evidence
The the crown prince of Arabia
Must have ordered it
7 men convicted
Death for 5 of them
The crown prince of Saudi Arabia
Was not one of those men
Now as through this world he rambled
He saw lots of funny men
They killed him with a bone knife
Saved themselves with parliament
And as through your life you travel
And as through your life you run
If you’re invited to the consulate
And you’re a journalist with a secret
And they’re promising you papers
Then proceed with caution

Brexit
02:58
|
|||
Just about the worst decision
England ever made
Was a thing called Brexit
And with it things were changed
Theresa reesah may wait another day
Run into Boris Johnson
Run into Theresa may
Arguments went off like thunder
And the insults fell like rain
Theresa reesah may wait another day
the european union
free trade between the countries
and on the irish border
talk of violence and of death
Theresa reesah may wait another day
the european union
was not giving in
for the lack of commitment
Deliberation was insane
Theresa reesah may wait another day
and now England faces Brexit
with unknown results
the people at the irish border
Fear getting turned into a pulp
Theresa reesah may wait another day
If you’ve got big decisions
Balanced on a timeline
Better learn to get along now
Or find someone who can
Theresa reesah may wait another day
if you’re afraid of dying
if you’re afraid of death
stay away from the borders
stay out of brexit’s path
Theresa reesah may wait another day

I'm blowin' down this old dusty road

An' I ain't a-gonna be treated this a-way
I'm a-goin' where the water taste like wine
I'm a-goin' where the water taste like wine
I'm a-goin' where the water taste like wine, Lord
An' I ain't a-gonna be treated this way

They say I'm a dust bowl refugee, Lord, Lord

I'm a-lookin' for a job at honest pay, Lord, Lord

It takes a ten-dollar shoe to fit my feet
It takes a ten-dollar shoe to fit my feet, Lord, Lord
An' I ain't a-gonna be treated this way
Your a-two-dollar shoe hurts my feet
Your two-dollar shoe hurts my feet
Yes, your two-dollar shoe hurts my feet, Lord, Lord
An' I ain't a-gonna be treated this way

I ain't got no home, I'm just a-roamin' 'round
Just a wandrin' worker, I go from town to town
And the police make it hard wherever I may go
And I ain't got no home in this world anymore
My brothers and my sisters are stranded on this road
A hot and dusty road that a million feet have trod
Rich man took my home and drove me from my door
And I ain't got no home in this world anymore
Was a-farmin' on the shares, and always I was poor
My crops I lay into the banker's store
My wife took down and died upon the cabin floor
And I ain't got no home in this world anymore
Now as I look around, it's mighty plain to see
This world is such a great and a funny place to be
Oh, the gamblin' man is rich an' the workin' man is poor
And I ain't got no home in this world anymore

Pastures of Plenty
02:44
|
|||
It's a mighty hard row that my poor hands have hoed
My poor feet have traveled a hot dusty road
Out of your Dust Bowl and westward we rolled
And your deserts were hot and your mountain was cold
I worked in your orchards of peaches and prunes
Slept on the ground in the light of your moon
On the edge of the city you'll see us and then
We come with the dust and we go with the wind
California and Arizona, I make all your crops
And its North up to Oregon to gather your hops
Dig the beets from your ground, cut the grapes from your vine
To set on your table your light sparkling wine
Green pastures of plenty from dry desert ground
From the Grand Coulee Dam where the waters run down
Every state in this Union us migrants have been
We'll work in this fight and we'll fight till we win
Well, it's always we rambled, that river and I
All along your green valley, I will work till I die
My land I'll defend with my life if it be
'Cause my pastures of plenty must always be free

We shall overcome, we shall overcome
We shall overcome, someday
Oh deep in my heart, I do believe
We shall overcome, someday
We’ll walk hand in hand, we’ll walk hand in hand
We’ll walk hand in hand, someday
Oh deep in my heart, I do believe
We shall overcome, someday
We shall live in peace, we shall live in peace
We shall live in peace someday
Oh deep in my heart, I do believe
We shall overcome, someday
We shall all be free, we shall all one free
We shall all be free someday
Oh deep in my heart, I do believe
We shall overcome, someday
We are not afraid, we are afraid
We are not afraid, today
Oh deep in my heart, I do believe
We shall overcome, someday
